What is the 8th CPC Salary Calculator?
The 8th Pay Commission will update the salary, allowances, and benefits for government employees in India. This calculator helps you estimate your revised salary based on expected changes in the pay matrix, fitment factor, and allowances.
It requires your current Basic Pay, Fitment Factor, HRA category, DA percentage, and Transport Allowance category to compute the revised salary.
History of Pay Commissions in India
India has had several Pay Commissions to revise the salary structure of government employees based on economic changes, inflation, and cost of living.
Pay Commission | Years Active | Highlights |
---|---|---|
1st CPC | 1946 - 1947 | Minimum wage, equal pay |
2nd CPC | 1957 - 1959 | 15% hike, 3 pay scales |
3rd CPC | 1970 - 1973 | Added HRA, CCA, incentives |
4th CPC | 1983 - 1986 | 27% hike, pension, LTC benefits |
5th CPC | 1994 - 1997 | 100% basic hike, DA merged |
6th CPC | 2006 - 2008 | Grade Pay system, 2.57× fitment |
7th CPC | 2014 - 2016 | New pay matrix, 2.86× fitment |
8th CPC | Expected 2024-26 | Estimated 3.0–3.5× fitment, higher minimum pay |
What is Fitment Factor?
A fitment factor is a multiplier applied to your current basic pay to compute the new basic pay under a new Pay Commission.
Pay Commission | Fitment Factor |
---|---|
2nd CPC | 1.5x |
3rd CPC | 2.0x |
4th CPC | 2.6x |
5th CPC | 3.2x |
6th CPC | 2.57x |
7th CPC | 2.86x |
8th CPC (Expected) | 3.0x - 3.5x |
How It Works — 8th CPC Formula
Revised Salary = (Basic Salary × Fitment Factor) + Allowances
- Basic Salary = Your current salary under 7th CPC
- Fitment Factor = Expected multiplier (e.g., 3.0 or 3.2)
- Allowances = DA + HRA + TA + Other benefits
8th CPC Salary Calculation using Fitment Factor
For example, if your current basic pay is ₹50,000, the fitment factor is 3.0 and allowances are ₹20,000, then the calculation would be:
- Revised Basic Pay = ₹50,000 × 3.0 = ₹1,50,000
- Allowances = ₹20,000
- Total Salary = ₹1,50,000 + ₹20,000 = ₹1,70,000
Note: This calculator provides only an estimate. The actual 8th CPC salary structure will be finalized by the Government of India once the Pay Commission is officially implemented. You can use this tool to get an idea of your revised salary based on the expected fitment factor, Dearness Allowance, HRA, and other benefits.
