201 – 400₹4.70
401 – 500₹6.30
Above 500 units0 – 100Free

Note:

  • The above slab rates are applicable for the bi-monthly billing cycle (usually 60 days).
  • If your electricity bill covers less than 35 days, TNEB applies monthly slab rates, which are different.
  • For example, if you consume 650 units in a month, the slab rates will be different than if you consumed the same 650 units over two months.
  • This calculator uses the bi-monthly slab rates for accurate estimates.

Example: TNEB Electricity Bill Calculation for 650 Units

For example, if you consumed 650 units, your bill would be calculated as follows:

  • First 100 units → ₹0
  • Next 300 units (101–400) → 300 × ₹4.70 = ₹1,410
  • Next 100 units (401–500) → 100 × ₹6.30 = ₹630
  • Next 100 units (501–600) → 100 × ₹8.40 = ₹840
  • Next 50 units (601–650) → 50 × ₹9.45 = ₹472.50

Total Bill = ₹0 + ₹1,410 + ₹630 + ₹840 + ₹472.50 = ₹3,352.50

So, your estimated bill for 650 units would be ₹3,352.50. This includes all the energy charges based on the slab rates. You can use this calculator to quickly estimate your bill for any number of units consumed.
